Contracted to perform duties of:
CEO

Achievements:
Led turnaround operation, creating thriving corporate event business unit, while growing membership revenue and holding expenses steady. Over 16 months boosted annual revenues by 67%, eliminating operating deficit.

Entity:
$US40 million Chicago-based Health Club Management Company

Contracted to perform duties of:
COO

Achievements:
Ran all aspects of management company’s operations (sales, marketing, human resources, budgeting and management accounting) over an 18-month period. Oversaw transition from seat-of-the-pants start up to profitable, sustainable venture through introduction of systems and procedures for effective operation. Managed the launch of 6,700 m² Chicago health club during the crucial first five months after opening. Created all procedures for business unit to use for future new club openings. Generated over 1,000 members during tenure as club general manager.

Single site, indoor multi-sport facility

Contracted to perform duties of:
CEO

Achievements:
Conducted comprehensive review of business operations at 11,200 m² facility. Created new business strategy to focus on profitable business activities: indoor soccer and fitness, culling unprofitable offerings: baseball, tennis. Over a six month period, oversaw architectural re-design of club to construct second indoor soccer rink, expand fitness offering and overhaul locker rooms. Recreated operations, marketing and financial systems and restructured organization design to more effectively match new strategic focus.
